We've made it easy for out of town friends and relatives to make a donation on a student's behalf for the Walk-A-Thon

To make a donation on behalf of a student at Willow Springs Elementary through Pay Pal or by Credit Card:

Donations must be received no later than October 20th for students on tracks 2 and 3 and November 3rd for students on tracks 1 and 4

On Friday, October 22 (tracks 2 and 3)

Friday, November 5 (tracks 1 and 4), 2010

our entire school will be participating in our first Walk-a-thon.  We wish to extend an invitation to family and friends to join us in helping to raise funds for field trips, assemblies and educational activities here at school.  A portion of the funds will also be designated to purchase new recess equipment for each classroom.

Each participant will raise funds by asking family and friends to sponsor them during the walk.  Sponsors can pledge a flat donation on our pledge sheet.  All children will participate in the Walk-A-Thon regardless of the amount of donations collected.

Our PE teachers, Mrs. Roberson and Ms. Emery, have developed a four-week training program specifically for this event for all of our students to follow in the weeks leading up to the Walk-A-Thon.

The Walk-A-Thon will take place during an extended recess time on the day of the event.  Children will walk around the 1/8 mile track for the entire 25-30 minute recess period.  Parents are encouraged to come out and cheer their child on during the event.  As we move closer to the Walk-A-Thon we will have more information on specific classroom recess times.

As an added incentive, individual students and classes will have an opportunity to earn a number of prizes and awards based on their participation in the Walk-a-thon.  This includes our top prize, an ipod touch, which will be awarded to the individual student who raises the highest dollar amount.

Every student will receive a participation medal and a silly band for each lap completed during the event.
