School-Sponsored Activities

• Great Leaps in Reading - This supplemental program aids selected students to build fluency through (repeated) readings of sounds, sight word phrases and stories. Contact Michelle Dupree if you are interested in volunteering.
• Media Center volunteers are needed to help check-in/check-out and reshelve books. Contact Sunny Mangum or Betty Raab if you are interested in lending a hand.

• Aluminum Can Recycling - The Aluminum Can Recycling bin is provided by the Recycle Challenge community recycling program and is located in the front parking lot. It is a fun and rewarding way to earn money for our school.  Simply save your empty aluminum drink cans and deposit them in the bin.  By doing so, you are keeping cans out of landfills and helping us earn funds for our school garden.

PTA-Sponsored Activities

Would you like to get involved with the WSES PTA?  E-mail the PTA or stop by the front office and let us know! WSES PTA yearly dues are $5.50. WSES PTA Board meetings are the first Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in thecafeteria of the school; all WSES PTA members are welcome to attend. PTA dues and fundraising efforts provide funding for field trips, teacher luncheons on early release days, Math and Science Night, Cultural Arts Programs, Reflections Program, Accelerated Reader Program, field day, 5th grade end-of-year celebration, and more.
